Bob was born and raised in Wellington, Ohio and graduated from Wellington High School in 1962. Bob and Kendra were married in 1964. In 1964, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served from March, 1964 through February, 1968. He advanced his education in Business and Public Administration through the Community College of the Air Force, University of Maryland, Northwest Missouri State, and Upper Iowa University. Upon his discharge, he returned home and began his employment career with Allstate Insurance Company. He and Kendra also started their family, having three daughters and now enjoying two grandsons. In May, 2000, Bob retired from Allstate Insurance Company after 32 years as a sales associate (agent). In 1974, Bob enlisted in the Ohio Air National Guard, 200th RED HORSE Civil Engineering Squadron in Port Clinton, Ohio. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in March, 1994. While in the Air National Guard, he served as the Squadron’s First Sergeant for eight years. Also had the honor of holding the position of State President of the Ohio National Guard Enlisted Association (ONGEA) in 1988-1990 representing more than 18,000 Ohio National Guard members. In addition, he was elected as a member of the national Board of Directors of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard, United States (EANGUS), where he served for five years. This association is located in Washington D.C. and represents all members of the National Guard of the U.S.A., and, at that time, had a force exceeding 450,000 military members. Bob has been active in many civic and fraternal groups, being an officer with the YMCA, A Special Wish Foundation, and AMVETS. He is also a member of the American Legion, VFW, Eagles and is a Kentucky Colonel. He has served his AMVETS Post #22 in many capacities for over 25 years: In 1994, Bob had the honor of being selected as the STATE OF OHIO AMVET OF THE YEAR. Bob’s Masonic career began in 1970 when he was raised in Wellington Lodge #127. He served as Worshipful Master in 1977 and again in 2000. Bob has also been the Lodge Secretary for over 20 years. He was the High Priest in Wellington Chapter #109, RAM three different times. He also holds membership in the Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland. He is a past officer and active member of the Lorain County Blue Lodge Association, and a member of the Lorain County Scottish Rite Society. .
